Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen, members of the media, party executives, supporters, and fellow Fijians.

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you all to this important occasion as the Social Democratic Liberal Party (SODELPA) proudly launches its revamped official website — www.sodelpa.org.fj — together with our new Online Candidate Application Portal.

Today marks a significant milestone in SODELPA’s journey of modernization and innovation. This launch represents more than a digital upgrade — it is a renewed commitment to transparency, inclusivity, and citizen empowerment in Fiji’s democratic process.

Our redesigned website offers a fresh, user-friendly interface, giving members, supporters, and the public easier access to party information, news updates, and policy announcements. It serves as a gateway for all Fijians to connect, engage, and participate in shaping the future of our nation.

A key highlight of this transformation is our Online Candidate Application Portal. This new platform allows aspiring leaders from across Fiji — whether from the cities or the most remote communities — to apply online to represent SODELPA in future elections.
This is about accessibility, fairness, and opportunity — ensuring that every qualified Fijian, regardless of background or location, has the chance to serve their people through our great party.

The selection of candidates under the SODELPA banner will continue to follow the requirements of the Fijian Constitution (2013) and the Electoral Act (2014), which set the standards for those who seek to stand for election. In addition, SODELPA has outlined specific party-based requirements within our online portal.
These criteria are designed to help us identify applicants who are qualified, experienced, innovative, and of strong moral character — men and women who are committed to serve with integrity and deliver real results for the Fijian people.

Through these initiatives, SODELPA is embracing digital transformation to bring politics closer to the people. We are building a transparent and inclusive platform where every Fijian can be heard, can contribute, and can lead.
