What SODELPA Stands For

Our Identity

The Social Democratic Liberal Party (SODELPA) is a people-centered movement built on the principles of faith, freedom, and fairness.
We believe in a Fiji where every citizen — iTaukei, Indo-Fijian, Rotuman, Banaban, Chinese, and all other communities — can live in unity, dignity, and peace.

SODELPA stands as a voice for justice, equality, and shared prosperity, grounded in the values of Vanua, Lotu, and Matanitu — representing the land, the spiritual foundation, and the state working in harmony for the good of all.

Our Core Principles

1. Democracy and Good Governance

We uphold the rule of law, transparency, and accountability. SODELPA promotes democratic leadership that serves the people with honesty, humility, and respect.

2. Social Justice and Equality

We are committed to ensuring that all Fijians have equal access to education, employment, healthcare, and opportunities — regardless of background or belief.

3. Respect for Culture, Faith, and Identity

We protect and promote the unique cultural heritage and traditions of all Fijian communities, encouraging mutual respect and unity among all faiths and cultures.

4. Economic Empowerment and Sustainability

We support sustainable economic growth that uplifts rural and urban communities alike — through strong agriculture, small business support, and responsible resource management.

5. Integrity and Service

We believe leadership is a duty to serve. SODELPA members are guided by ethics, humility, and the belief that national interest must always come before personal gain.

Our Mission

To build a strong, united, and prosperous Fiji — a nation led by truth, guided by faith, and inspired by the collective strength of its people.

SODELPA envisions a future where leadership listens, opportunity is shared, and every voice matters.
