As we approach Christmas and prepare to welcome 2026, I extend my warmest greetings to all Fijians and to our friends around the world.

This year has been one of steady progress and renewed confidence in Fiji’s tourism and aviation sectors. Together, we have strengthened our skies, welcomed growing numbers of visitors, and reaffirmed Fiji’s place as a destination known for warmth, friendliness, and world-class hospitality.

Looking ahead, we are also encouraged by a strong pipeline of major hotel and resort developments across the country. These investments reflect growing international confidence in Fiji, create jobs for our people, and further strengthens our tourism offering in the years ahead.

In these days of global uncertainty, Fiji remains, and will always be, a safe and welcoming destination for all travellers.

At the same time, I acknowledge that there are areas where we must, and will, do better. As Deputy Prime Minister and as Minister, I take responsibility for the work still before us, and I thank you, the people of Fiji, for your patience, your trust, and your constructive engagement as we continue to improve service delivery and outcomes.

Important legislative work continues. The Commercial Use of Marine Areas (CUMA) Bill has been tabled in Parliament and is now subject to public consultations led by a Parliamentary Standing Committee. At the same time, extensive consultations are underway toward a harmonised Civil Aviation Bill and a comprehensive Tourism Bill, a first for Fiji, to future-proof these vital sectors for generations to come.

As the year draws to a close, let us reflect with gratitude and humility, and look ahead with resolve. The work of nation-building is never finished, but it is strengthened by honesty, unity, and faith in our shared future.

I wish you and your loved ones a blessed Christmas, and a prosperous, peaceful, and hopeful New Year 2026.
